"Everything is created from moment to moment, always new. Like
fireworks, this universe is a celebration and you are the spectator
contemplating the eternal Fourth of July of your absolute splendor."

Casey
Hi. I'm Casey.

Although I joined TVbyGirls because I wanted to change the amount of negativity in the media and make the imagery more balanced, that is not why I STAY in it.

I really thought hard about why I choose TVbyGirls for my activity instead of basketball or volleyball or something. And even though I have always thought of myself as very independant, I realized that I choose to stay in TVbyGirls because I enjoy collaborating with the other girls and making movies. I enjoy taking all of our individual little thoughts, pieces, and ideas and combining them to get something that is bigger than us all that speaks to so many people on so many different levels.

I am 13 years old and I like to play with my cat, Duchess and my dog, Jackson. I like to play Sims Bustin' Out in my Gamecube and Sims 2 Pets on my Gameboy. I think its really fun to design the characters and to decorate and design the houses. I also like to read. My favorite books are the Uglies, Pretties and Specials trilogy by Scott Westerfield, the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling, and the Warriors Series by Erin Hunter. And, of course I like to read my Bible. I am active with my church youth group. I go to our church camp every summer with my best friend. I also go on a mission trip with my mom and brother to our favorite Rez every summer. On the trip we build ramps for elders in wheelchairs, tutor kids in summer school, and help with a kids program in the afternoons. I like to knit, to paint, to do foil art and to draw cartoons. I like to sing and act and enjoy being in my school musicals. I love listening to KTIS on the radio and am collecting as many Weird Al Yankovich songs as I can get for my MP3 player. His stuff has inspired me to write song parodies myself. I am working on one right now with my friend that parodies Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It is called Somewhere Deep in my Backpack. Currently, I want to be a software engineer. But, I used to think I wanted to be a career politician and I used to think I wanted to be a veteranarian. I have a few years before I have to decide what I am going to do for sure so ... who knows. But, whatever I choose, I know it will be something I love!

Favorite pet peeve: When people don't follow through on their commitments and when people talking to you accidentally spit or drool.
Favorite color: Purple
Favorite song: Pharoah, Pharaoh, The Cartoon Song by Chris Rice, Virus Alert by Al Yankovich, and Abraham by The Brothers Frantzich
Favorite TV Show: The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show (You have to see this!!!!!)
Favorite Movie: The one I just saw
Favorite Subject in school: Tech lab, Materials and Processes (An Industrial Tech class) and Math
Favorite Sport: Archery

Websites I would recommend:
http://scratch.mit.edu/ This is a website that teaches kids basic computer programming skills and gives them a place to display their projetcs.

http://www.millsberry.com/ This is a website by General Mills. You will see the Lucky Charms lepruchan and the Trix rabbit and stuff but they try to limit the commercialism.

http://www.whyville.net/smmk/nice This is a really cool website that let's you design characters and have the character live in a cyber world and play games and stuff. It is a free site so of course there are sponsors and so of course there is some commercialism but it is hidden and not so in your face.

http://www.gabendoor.com/gabendoor/orders/order_frame.html This is a website for a series of books my great uncle has written. There are a lot of creative challenges and places to display your creative ideas, writing and artwork.

http://babelfish.altavista.com/ This is a website that can translate anything you want to say into many other languages. It's really cool!

http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/fcp_homepage_index.html This is a guy who really knows his Final Cut Pro software. If you are editing a movie and need to figure something out, this is your one stop resource shop!
